I work at Picnic, an online grocery company in Amsterdam. Currently building systems that figure out what groceries to order from suppliers each day.
Before this, I built Picnic's real-time analytics platform based on ClickHouse, ingesting hundreds of data sources into a self-service platform.
Earlier, I spent four years building Picnic's payments from the ground up. Started with just Dutch iDEAL and built it into a multi-country, multi-PSP platform supporting various payment methods including Apple Pay and credit cards. Added PCI tokenization for secure credit card handling, fraud detection, and launched "Picnic Pay." Grew the team from 1 to 12 engineers while expanding across Netherlands, Germany, and France.
Before Picnic, worked on distributed systems at Neo4j - implemented one of the first commercial implementations of the Raft consensus algorithm.
I studied Computer Science at TU Eindhoven (M.Sc) and George Mason University (B.S), where I was part of the RoboCup robotics team.
I have a standing invitation to grab coffee and chat about tech, life, or anything. No agenda needed.
Email me - I try to respond to everyone.
